About Me

Hi! My name is Aimee and I’m from the small town of South Lake Tahoe, CA but my dreams go beyond the deep lake. I graduated from CSU, Chico with a BA in Organizational Communications and a minor in Public Relations.

After some amazing time spent in Maui, Hawaii, I left for my journey with the Peace Corps and am currently in Costa Rica.
I am an Economic Facilitator in the rural community of Colonia Libertad. I start my official journey with the Peace Corps 6/4/14. I will update the blog with more information when I am a couple months into service and know more information. Because my site is very rural, I probably will not be able to update very often!

I have spent the past couple of years deeply confused and sitting in my grief of losing my father. There has been many ups and downs. Many accomplishments and even more setbacks.I finally feel like I am the path that I am meant to be on. This blog has been a journey on healing my heart and finding my ‘Peace of Derek.’

. I have found where my passion lays. It is in inspiring. It is in lending my heart and my hands to those who need it. Sometimes all that it takes is lending an open palm, an open heart, or even an open page to express what is on your mind, to see where your own peace lays at.

Aimee, I’m sure you do not remember me but you were our waitress on our first trip to Maui. We spoke of your tattoos and their meanings and you really inspired my husband and I. Your website is heartfelt and deep with truth, love and meaning. You are an inspiring woman and I look forward to keeping track of your new path in the Peace Corps. Life is so short, my friend, and you are making the most of it and we wish you peace in love in your journey. Nancy and Mark
